Aanand L Rai has dazzled everyone with the caliber of films he produces. He is regarded as one of Bollywood’s best directors. Rai is renowned for using his films to present original tales and evoke strong emotions in his audience. With the Hindi film Strangers, an adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock’s 1951 film, Strangers On A Train, Aanand made his film directing debut. The most recent film to be released by Rai’s production business, Colour Yellow Productions, is the Akshay Kumar-starrer Raksha Bandhan. So, here’s a compilation of Bollywood movies to binge-watch online.
- Raksha Bandhan
On October 5th, 2022, ZEE5 Global will premiere the Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar-starrer Raksha Bandhan. The comedy-drama is directed by Aanand L Rai. In Chandni Chowk, where Lala Kedarnath (Akshay Kuma) runs a gol gappa (panipuri) shop, the movie picks up swiftly. In his personal life, he is surrounded by a group of four sisters and, of course, his girlfriend Sapna (Bhumi). On his mother’s deathbed, he promised her that he would first get his four sisters married in suitable marriages and only then get married to Sapna. Lala’s dedication to his responsibilities towards his sisters often gets in the way of his relationship with Sapna.
- Raanjhanaa
Kundan (Dhanush) has had his sights set on Zoya (Sonam Kapoor). Upon learning of their growing closeness, Zoya’s parents send her to Aligarh for higher education, where she meets Akram (Abhay Deol). When she returns home at last, wedding preparations for Akram—a man from a different religion than she is—whom she will marry—begin. Kundan will later battle Akram over this. Kundan is hurt that she fought for Akram and not for him because it puts their wedding in jeopardy and results in Akram dying. Kundan’s one-sided love repeatedly puts the main characters in risky circumstances, and the film did a beautiful job of bringing that out.
- Atrangi Re
It’s entertaining to watch the love triangle involving Dhanush, Akshay Kumar, and Sara Ali Khan. This is Dhanush and Anand L Rai’s second time working together on a project. On arrival in Delhi, Rinku (Sara) and Vishu (Dhanush), who had been forced into a Pakadua Vivah marriage, decide to part ways. Vishu, however, ends up falling in love with Rinku because she is unable to escape Sajjad, her fictitious boyfriend. The emotions in every scene were beautifully raw, even though the outcome of this love triangle depended on a fictitious person.
- Tanu Weds Manu
Jimmy Shergill ultimately lost out to Kangana Ranaut, Jimmy Shergill, and Madhvan in Tanu Weds Manu. With a strong ensemble cast, Anand concentrated more on the mayhem brought on by such love triangles in the second segment. Kangana (Tanu)-Madhvan-love Jimmy’s triangle is a replica of Kangana (Kusum)-Tanu-Madhvan- Jimmy’s. A lovesick Chintu (Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub) is the ideal element for a humorous entertainer, so add him to the mix.
- Shubh Mangal Savdhaan
The Tamil comedy Kalyana Samayal Saadham was a remake of Aanand’s Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (2013). The romantic comedy Kalyana Samayal Saadham was written and directed by RS Prasanna. It features Prasanna and Lekha Washington as the erectile dysfunctional bride-to-be. Bhumi Pednekar and Ayushmann Khurrana co-star in the Hindi adaptation, where the latter delightfully characterizes his predicament as a “gents problem.”
